The painting of the Grand canyon was originally done for a magazine ad. After it was photographed for the ad I got it back and re-worked it a bit to make it more of a fine art piece and then added the pegasus for my own interests. So it started out as an ad background, then a landscape, and then changed to fantasy just by adding a pegasus. This piece then gave me the idea for "Double Arch - Utah" and "Desert Oasis". All three have a background from a photo reference with a fantasy image.
