"The Land of Titania"
This is the first piece where I've returned to using a drier (after 25 years). I mix it proportionately with the citrus based solvent (one to six) and let it sit for at least 24 hours. I use it extremely sparingly except for the pigments that I know will dry slow without it. For example, the moon, which the initial heavy color wash took two weeks before it had tacked up enough to recoat. But with using the drier mix as a solvent to dip the brush into before the color, then the wash layer would be dry (tacky enough to recoat) in three hours. And the fact that I paint in washes eliminates the chance of cracking. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. As of 2009 I no longer use a drier. This is classic fantasy art.
